Events

The modern minifigure designed by Jens Nygaard Knudsen is introduced.
In conjunction with the new minifigure, LEGOLAND undergoes a major restructuring, with the introduction of the three "classic" themes: Town, Space and Castle, and the blue-on-yellow branding is introduced on the packaging - replacing the previous "Legoland" flag logo.
2x2 round bricks are introduced.
1x2 tiles with centre stud are introduced.
The vehicle baseplate (4212) is introduced to allow minifigure-compatible vehicles.
