Fafnir is a dragon from the Vikings theme introduced in 2005.
Description
Fafnir is represented with a combination of System, BIONICLE, and Dinosaurs pieces. It is similar in build to the Nidhogg, but larger and more complex. Fafnir is mostly earth green with dark red accents.
Background
The adult Fafnir dragon goes on rampage and attacks the Viking Fortress after the Viking Warriors capture the Baby Fafnir Dragon.
In the Nov-Dec 2005 LEGO Magazine BrickMaster Edition comic, the Fafnir, Nidhogg, and Fenris attack the Viking Fortress together. The two dragons' wings are struck by tar launched from the Viking Catapult, grounding them and allowing the vikings to tie them up.
Appearances
Notes
- In Norse mythology, Fafnir was originally a dwarf, whose greed turned him into a dragon that hoarded the gold that he and his brother had stolen from their father after killing him. He was later killed by Sigurd.
