Details

The Stingrays are fish-like mutants who used underwater vessels that resemble sea creatures like rays or crabs. Their color scheme is primarily dark grey and black with transparent fluorescent green. The minifigures include Commander Manta Ray, Navigator Stinger Ray, and Raven Ray.

Background

The Stingrays are a villainous faction in the Aquazone. They were once related to the Hydronauts but have since diverged into a race of half-man half-fish creatures in order to survive underwater to make up for their poor building techniques. Now, they oppose the Hydronauts and the Aquaraiders, who are unable to stop them. Like their predecessors, the Stingrays prowl the Aquazone in search of hydrolator crystals and steal any they can from other factions.

Red eyes glow in the black water. A creature quickly snatches a crystal and disappears into the ooze. The villainous creature is a Stingray! Once related to the Hydronauts, the Stingrays were never good at building things. So to survive, they took on the characteristics of fish and breathe through the bone in their helmet.
